I went to help a friend excavate some land so he can start building a house. During the day we came acrross two little baby bunnies. This was the first one we found. These are the rabbits that run free throughout Arizona. We see the grown-ups quite often but it's rare we see the babies. This little guy was so small he could fit in the palm of my hand. Both were very calm, I held on to them for a while and then walked them to a safer spot so we wouldn't hurt them with our big scary human machines.

*EDIT* judging from numerous "cute" comments I have gotten, it has been decided this is the cutest phtograph I have ever taken...Like a couple making out in public it's a fine line between "awww that's so cute" and vomitting :puke: this is the photo you hate to love and love to hate, it seems to make the toughest of brutes buckle at the knees and beckon to hold something soft and fuzzy. :giggle: BEHOLD MY WITTLE RUNNY BABBIT FOR HE IS CUTIFUL GOODNESS! :w00t:

Great angle and great light. I like how there are plants in the foreground in front of the subject. The head space is an excellent touch, the sky and clouds really decreases the weight of the photo. I also noticed you added a tiny strip of black to the left side of the border. It's a unique touch but I can't really see any purpose for it. Still it's a break from the ordinary. I sometimes add tribals to the tops and bottoms of my borders for an extra bit of panache. Well I've digressed enough, I love this photo and it’s a great work of art. However, in the future don't pick up infant animals. Sometimes they become disoriented and move then the mother never finds them. There is an even worse fate for infant rodents in many cases. You may leave a scent on their fur and the mother won't recognize that they are hers anymore and abandon them or eat them.

hee hee I've been busted. the grey strip on the outside of the border was when I shifted the border over in photoshop and I didn't notice it was there until I posted it. oops. as for the picking up of infant animals, I was concerned about our scent as well but we didn't have much choice unless we ran him over with the bulldozer which wouldn't be good. The rabbits breed like wild fire out there so I'm sure the lttle guys are ok. at least I keep telling myself that. We found them both seperately in two totally different spots so I think they were already out on their own. we accidentally mutilated a skink (lizard), I felt really bad for him. I'm sure we'll come accross some other things like snakes and terantulas.
